The rules GRF holds itself to

Neutral by rule, open to challenge.

A forum is only useful if no participant can capture it. This page sets out the rules The Global Risks Forum (GRF) applies to itself: independence, council rules, safeguarding, conflicts and sponsorship, how programme status is described, and how anyone can raise a concern or correct a claim.

Neutrality registerSwiss association
  1. HostingIs not ownership: a host gains no ownership of the programme, its records or its results
  2. SponsorshipIs not authority: support is disclosed and kept apart from agendas, selection and findings
  3. ParticipationIs not appointment: taking part confers no endorsement or governance power
  4. StatusFollows records: nothing is described as confirmed until a record shows it

01In brief

The short answer.

Governance and trust at GRF is the set of written safeguards that keep the forum from capture and its claims honest: independence and anti-capture rules, council rules, participant safeguarding, a single programme-status record and an open corrections route. Hosting is not ownership, sponsorship is not authority, and status follows records.

02Independence

No one can buy a place on the agenda or a finding.

GRF is a Swiss association with a public-good purpose. It does not regulate, finance, procure, certify, underwrite, rate, invest in or approve projects, so it has no such power to trade. Its safeguards protect the programme it governs from anyone who tries to buy influence.

Separated decisions

Convening and programme governance sit with GRF, evidence with GCRI, finance readiness with GRA, and every decision with the competent authority.

Statutory governance

GRF is governed by its statutory organs under its articles of association. Councils are programme bodies and do not replace them.

Its own standing only

GRF describes only its own relationships. Statuses held by GCRI or GRA never extend to GRF.

03Council rules

Council rules come before council seats.

Each council is designed with a stated purpose, a selection procedure and limits on what a seat confers, published before applications open. The council model is described on About GRF.

  1. 01

    Selection before payment

Leaders are selected first; any contribution follows written terms.

  2. 02

    Fit-and-proper and conflict review

Before invitation, each candidate is to be reviewed for conflicts and suitability.

  3. 03

    Records of council work

Agendas, approved minutes and commitments are to be published as participants agree, with dissent recorded.

  4. 04

    No bought standing

A seat never buys office, employment, a board seat or restricted data.

04Safeguarding

Safe participation for everyone in the room.

Dialogues and exercises put people with very different power in one room. Safeguarding protects every participant, and above all students, volunteers, communities and rights-holders.

Conduct

Participation is conditional on accepting conduct expectations. No unqualified contributor takes a safety-critical task, and no student or volunteer receives an unsupervised high-consequence assignment.

Restricted route

Safeguarding concerns use a restricted route, never a public forum or a chatbot. Write to safeguarding@globalriskforum.com.

Protected knowledge

Community and Indigenous knowledge is used only under an agreed schedule and never enters public examples without consent.

GRF is not an emergency service. In immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

05Conflicts and sponsorship

Interests declared, support kept apart.

06Claims and programme status

What is in place today, and what is not yet.

GRF writes in the present tense only about what operates now. Everything else is described as designed, proposed or in formation.

07Corrections and concerns

Anyone can challenge a public claim.

No membership, account or payment is needed to correct public information or report harm. Each route is designed to reach the right reviewer, and a correction creates a recorded new version, never a silent edit.

Use a clear subject line. The acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step, and a request that is not upheld is designed to receive a reasoned answer rather than disappear.

08Privacy and accessibility

Your information and your access.

Privacy

GRF uses what you send only to answer your enquiry and keep a record of it. GRF's privacy notice for this site, with GRF as controller, sets out the details. Each pillar institution has its own notice and controller, and an enquiry sent to the Secretariat at contact@therisk.global is handled under the Secretariat's notice. Requests about your personal data go to privacy@globalriskforum.com.

Accessibility

These pages are designed to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. We test pages and fix barriers we find. Report a barrier to privacy@globalriskforum.com or contact@globalriskforum.com, and say what format or support would help.

10Questions

Questions about governance and trust.

Can a sponsor see results before they are published?
Not as a right of sponsorship. Sponsors cannot approve publications or change evidence. Any pre-publication review follows the programme's editorial rules, which apply to every party equally.
How do I report a wrong claim on this site?
Write to integrity@globalriskforum.com with the page and the claim. The acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step, and any correction is published as a new recorded version.
Does GRF hold any regulatory or diplomatic status?
No. GRF is a Swiss association. It holds no regulatory, diplomatic or certifying role, and it does not borrow the statuses of GCRI or GRA.
Who reviews a complaint about a GRF decision?
Someone who was not responsible for the contested decision. Write to integrity@globalriskforum.com; the acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step, and the review is designed to end with a reasoned answer.
Why are dates and hosts missing from this site?
Because GRF publishes an edition, host or appointment only when a record shows it. Missing information means it is not yet confirmed.
