Leadership participation
Individual leaders take part in The Global Risks Forum (GRF) through the Leadership Council, which corresponds to the National Leadership Council (NLC). Leaders are selected in a personal capacity, through a nomination and review procedure, and then contribute through a structured year with a baseline, a contribution plan and quarterly evidence. A year of service builds a record of what a leader contributed; it is not an appointment to any office. Nominations open when their terms and review capacity are in place. Until then, enquiries receive a reference.

The short answer.
Leadership participation at GRF is through the Leadership Council, which corresponds to the National Leadership Council: leaders are selected in a personal capacity and contribute through a structured year with a baseline, a contribution plan and quarterly evidence. A year of service builds a record, not an appointment.

Quarterly evidence and Year-One Gateway
Quarterly work, mentoring and mission contribution, reviewed at the end of the first year.
What a year on the Leadership Council involves.
| Activity | Typical commitment |
|---|---|
| Council sessions | Several per year, remote or in person |
| Sponsoring a dialogue question | Helping frame and follow one question |
| Leadership session in the action week | Participation in deliberation |
| Record of service | A short account of contributions, reviewed |
Who the Council is designed to include.
The Council is designed to include leaders from public authorities, operators, research, civil society and communities, with balance across gender, region and generation. Youth leaders take part on the same terms as others, reflecting the attention to young people in the Pact for the Future.
What a year of leadership leaves behind.
Where you started
A Leadership Baseline that states your starting capability and the questions you will work on.
What you did
Quarterly evidence of contribution, reviewed rather than self-declared.
What comes next
A Year-One Gateway that produces a reviewed next step. It may be continuation, a new focus or completion.
What a seat is not.
| A Leadership Council seat | Is not |
|---|---|
| A personal role, held in your own capacity | A seat owned by your employer, or transferable to a colleague |
| A structured year of contribution | An office of GRF, a government or any institution |
| A record of service you can describe accurately | An endorsement by GRF of you or your institution |
| Participation in deliberation | Employment, a board seat or access to restricted data |
Global and regional leadership roles are in formation, and their scope is published only once adopted.
Where leadership work connects.
The council model and its limits are described on Leadership and councils and what membership means. All pathways are compared on Participate. Leadership development is set out on leadership development, and leaders' role in the annual programme on leadership at Universe. Questions about nomination can go to councils@globalriskforum.com; the acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step.

Start with an enquiry.
The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
