What being a Swiss association implies.
- Legal personality once the articles are adopted and the organs appointed (Civil Code, Article 60).
- Registration in the commercial register is required only in specific cases, such as commercial activity or audit duty.
- Members are not personally liable for the association's debts unless the articles say otherwise.
- A non-profit public-interest purpose can support tax exemption at cantonal and federal level, decided by the tax authorities.
Switzerland as a base for international dialogue.
Switzerland hosts many international organisations and civil society bodies, and its Host State Act sets the framework for privileges that some of them receive. GRF is an ordinary association and claims no host-state privileges.
