Fig.The Nexus cycle, from question to renewal. Design, not a record of a run.
The short answer.
Publish is step six of the eight-step Nexus cycle: the step at which reviewed findings are published in Nexus Reports with their methods and limits. It is owned by Nexus Reports. At this step GRF publishes governance analysis and dialogue outcomes, and the decision at the end of the cycle stays with the competent authority.
Jurisdictions in the Lake Chad Basin.
The jurisdictions that hold authority over this question: countries, their first-level divisions and capitals, shown for the Lake Chad Basin as an example geography for this subject.
Who owns the publish step.
Nexus Reports
What is published, under which licence, with whose consent.
| Item | Default | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|
| Dialogue outcome note | Published | All participants, for any attributed statement |
| Evidence brief | Published by GCRI | None from participants |
| Decision record | Published if the holder agrees | The decision holder |
| Exercise after-action report | Summary published | The institutions exercised |
| Personal data | Not published | Not applicable |
Where published records appear.
GRF's own publications appear in insights; reviewed findings from the annual programme go into Nexus Reports; corrections are logged in corrections. Each item carries its version, its date and the evidence labels it inherits from GCRI.
Each pillar's contribution.
Then: decide.
Terms used on this page.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Peer review | Evaluation of a work by independent experts in the field before publication. |
| Version of record | The fixed version of a work that a publisher formally declares published; later changes appear as dated corrections or new versions, never as silent edits, in the sense NISO's journal article versions recommendation uses. |
| Editorial independence | The condition in which editors decide what is published on the validity and relevance of the work, free from interference by owners, funders or sponsors, as ICMJE and COPE guidance describe it. |

Start with an enquiry.
The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
