Research Nexus programmes organize its work on research and evidence as well as governance and institutions at three levels: global priorities, regional applications and country work. Each programme shows its recorded status, from exploring and forming to active, paused or archived, and a plan is never presented as an activity. Countries take part through their national programmes and the Consortium Secretariat.

For programmes and projects, in GRF's situational-awareness reading, the map opens on population density, flood water and night lights, framed on Europe; 3 further NASA layers wait in the list.

| Line | Question | Output |
|---|---|---|
| Knowledge translation | How does a finding become usable by an agency? | Translation notes and plain-language briefs |
| Research integrity in risk | How are preprints, models and data checked before they reach decisions? | Integrity checklists for policy-facing research |
| Collaborative research design | How can agencies and universities co-design questions without compromising independence? | Co-design protocols and agreements |
Each line is designed; none is presented as running until its record exists.
A programme is shown as exploring, forming, constituted, active, paused or archived, according to its record. A plan is never presented as an activity.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Programme | A group of related projects and activities managed together to obtain benefits that managing them separately would not, in the sense the Project Management Institute's programme standard uses. |
| Programme status | The recorded state of a programme on Nexus pages: exploring, forming, constituted, active, paused or archived. A plan is never presented as an activity. |
| Country ownership | The principle that a country leads its own development policies and strategies and coordinates the actions that support them, set out in the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness. |
| Research governance | The rules, institutions and practices that decide how research is commissioned, reviewed, shared, corrected and taken up, from funder policies to institutional codes. |

The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
