Ownership.
- 1.1 Unless the material says otherwise, GRF or its contributors own the copyright and other rights in the original text, figures, datasets, software and design of the Site. Rights not expressly granted are reserved.
- 1.2 Contributors keep the copyright in their contributions and license them as the Contribution Terms state.
Licences of the content of the Site.
- 2.1 Material of the Site may be reused under the licence stated on it. Original research material is licensed under CC BY 4.0 where it says so (creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0); descriptive metadata is dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0; code is licensed under the licence stated in its repository.
- 2.2 The Rights and licences page lists the licence of each kind of material.
- 2.3 Where no licence is stated, material may be read and cited with attribution, and any other reuse needs written permission, which can be requested at contact@therisk.global.
The Nexus Standards.
- 3.1 The Nexus Standards, their registry, schemas and catalogue records, and the content of nexustandards.com are licensed under CC BY 4.0, and their reference tooling under the Apache License 2.0, from the date each item is publicly released. The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI Canada) is the publisher of record of the Nexus Standards.
- 3.2 Reuse credits the Nexus Standards with the title, version, identifier and licence of the item, and states any change made. The licence covers the text and data; it grants no right in the names of the programme and no right to claim that an implementation conforms, which follows the Standards IP and Participation Policy of the Nexus Standards.
External standards.
- 4.1 External standards, specifications and frameworks are named by their identifier, their issuing body and a link to the body's own publication. Their text is never reproduced or paraphrased at length, and no Nexus document stands in for an external standard or is presented as interchangeable with it.
- 4.2 Open standards and open-source specifications whose terms allow it are adopted, profiled or crosswalked with credit to their source and a link. Standards whose text is sold or restricted are supported only through compatibility profiles built on simulated data, published on access-controlled pages and opened to public use only after an arrangement with the issuing body is in place.
- 4.3 The names and marks of standards bodies and of their standards belong to those bodies and are used only to identify them and their documents. Their use implies no affiliation, sponsorship or approval.
Third-party material.
- 5.1 Third-party data, imagery, code, fonts and bibliographic records keep their own licences and copyright holders, which prevail for them. The Third-party notices list the credits and licences.
- 5.2 Material derived from OpenStreetMap is subject to the Open Database Licence 1.0, and any database derived from it is shared on the terms that licence requires.
Databases.
- 6.1 Where a database right exists in a dataset of the Site, including the sui generis right of Directive 96/9/EC and its United Kingdom counterpart, it is licensed on the same terms as the dataset.
Names, emblems and visual identity.
- 7.1 The names, acronyms, emblems and visual identity of GRF, of its programmes and of the Site are not licensed by any content or software licence. Referential use, to identify the institution or programme accurately, is allowed; any other use follows the Trademark and Name Use Policy.
- 7.2 No content licence permits a use that suggests sponsorship, approval, partnership or affiliation.
Moral rights.
- 8.1 Authors are credited by the name they choose. Where the law gives authors moral rights, nothing in a licence or in these terms waives them beyond what the licence itself provides.
Notices of infringement.
- 9.1 A person who believes that material on the Site infringes their rights may send a notice to contact@therisk.global, including notices under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act. A notice identifies the work, the material and its address on the Site, the right relied on and the sender's contact details, and states in good faith that the use is not authorised.
- 9.2 The material is reviewed promptly and removed, corrected or restricted where the notice is well founded. The person who supplied the material is told and may respond; access may be restored where the response shows the use is lawful. Access is withdrawn from anyone who repeatedly infringes the rights of others.
Law.
- 10.1 These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, without prejudice to any mandatory protection of the law of the country where a user lives.
