Fellowship

Fellowship

This Fellowship Nomination Form is intended for professionals seeking to join The Global Risks Forum (GRF) as volunteer Fellows, contributing their expertise to the responsible governance and deployment of exponential technologies for systemic risk management and resilience. Fellowship appointments are non-remunerated and voluntary, but may provide structured opportunities to collaborate with UN agencies, the World Bank, the IMF, regional development banks, national and local authorities, and other actors in the global disaster risk reduction and innovation ecosystem. Fellows may be engaged in quarterly sprints, focused research and development programmes, and policy, standards and governance workstreams across the Nexus Ecosystem—spanning AI and advanced analytics, cyber and cyber-physical systems, space and Earth observation, quantum and emerging technologies, synthetic biology and biosecurity, IoT and sensing, robotics and automation, digital twins and simulation, programmable finance, and next-generation infrastructure, supply chains and community resilience.

By submitting a nomination, candidates affirm their interest in a visible, impact-oriented volunteer role at the interface of technology, science, policy and practice, with a strong commitment to open science, open-source development, open collaboration, standardization and acceleration of solutions as digital public goods. Fellows may contribute to the design of methods, models and architectures, the development of technical and institutional standards and protocols, and the implementation of applied pilots and deployments across the Nexus Ecosystem, including education and mentorship through Nexus Academy. In return, volunteer Fellows gain opportunities for co-authorship of high-impact publications and standards, participation in global convenings and expert dialogues, engagement with cross-sector networks spanning governments, international organisations, industry, academia, finance and civil society, and formal recognition as part of a global expert community working to ensure that exponential technologies enhance societal resilience. Applicants are invited to use this form to describe their background, areas of expertise, priority technology and risk domains, and preferred modes of engagement; nominations are reviewed on a rolling basis, and selected Fellows are placed into Fellowship streams aligned with their profile, geographic and institutional context, and availability.
