Swiss association identity

The Global Risks Forum (GRF) is a Swiss association with a public-good, not-for-profit purpose, located at 6300 Zug, Switzerland. It is the responsible publisher of globalriskforum.com and its specialist platforms, and it is governed by its statutory organs under its articles of association and Swiss law. 01In brief

The short answer.

GRF's legal identity is that of a Swiss association with a public-good, not-for-profit purpose, the responsible publisher of globalriskforum.com and its specialist platforms, governed by its statutory organs under its articles of association and Swiss law. Its councils, working groups and dialogue formats are programme bodies and do not replace those organs.

How The Global Risks Forum is governedA mandate sets the platform's scope; an editor and reviewers govern what it publishes; programmes and the community supply the work; the integrity route handles corrections; authority over decisions stays outside. Design of the governance, not a record.

05Legal features

What being a Swiss association implies.

  • Legal personality once the articles are adopted and the organs appointed (Civil Code, Article 60).
  • Registration in the commercial register is required only in specific cases, such as commercial activity or audit duty.
  • Members are not personally liable for the association's debts unless the articles say otherwise.
  • A non-profit public-interest purpose can support tax exemption at cantonal and federal level, decided by the tax authorities.
06International context

Switzerland as a base for international dialogue.

Switzerland hosts many international organisations and civil society bodies, and its Host State Act sets the framework for privileges that some of them receive. GRF is an ordinary association and claims no host-state privileges.
