GRF

Events and dialogue calendar

The calendar of The Global Risks Forum (GRF): dialogues, council sessions, exercises and programme meetings. An activity appears only when its convening record exists, with a confirmed date, an evidenced host and terms of participation. None is on record yet. The risk calendar is crowded with announced summits; a listing here is a checked fact. Released records move to past programmes.

02Listing rule

An activity is listed when its record exists.

  1. 01

    Approved

The activity has a stated purpose and an accountable GRF owner, and its approval is recorded.

  2. 02

    Scheduled

A date and format are fixed in writing, not only proposed.

  3. 03

    Hosted

Where a host is involved, its authority and readiness are evidenced in a hosting agreement.

  4. 04

    Terms published

Who may take part, how to register where registration exists, and how the activity will be recorded.

Event registration opens only when its team, terms and review capacity are in place. Until then, this page lists no registrations.

Events and dialogue calendar: IHR event detection and notification

Under the IHR (2005), a State Party assesses events with the Annex 2 instrument and notifies WHO through its National IHR Focal Point.

  1. 01 Surveillance

    1. 01Indicator-based surveillanceSource · State PartyRoutine reporting, such as case reports, is one signal source. Article 5 requires capacity to detect, assess, notify and report events.
    2. 02Event-based surveillanceSource · State Party · WHOUnstructured signals, such as media or community reports, are another source. WHO may use such reports and then seeks verification.
  2. 02 Event handling

    1. 03TriageStepSignals are screened for relevance and duplicates before follow-up. The Regulations prescribe no triage method; this is general practice.
    2. 04Verify with the sourceStep · State PartyWhen WHO requests verification, the State Party replies within 24 hours with an acknowledgement and the public health information available.
  3. 03 Assessment

    1. 05Rapid risk assessmentModelA rapid assessment of hazard, exposure and context can support the response. It is separate from Annex 2 and not in the text read.
    2. 06Annex 2 decision instrumentGate · State PartyThe State Party assesses each event with the Annex 2 algorithm, on impact, novelty, international spread and restrictions.
  4. 04 IHR focal point

    1. 07Notify WHODecision · State Party, through its National IHR Focal PointThe State Party notifies WHO within 24 hours of assessment, through its Focal Point, of events that may be a PHEIC under the instrument.
  5. 05 Response

    1. 08Public health responseStep · Rapporteur (independent)Article 13 requires each State Party to build capacity to respond promptly and effectively to public health risks and emergencies.
    2. 09After-action reviewStepThe IHR monitoring and evaluation framework includes voluntary after action reviews, next to the Joint External Evaluation (JEE).

Neutral outline of a published external standard or method, from its issuing body. Not a record of operation. Nexus does not perform, certify or approve any step shown. A gate or decision belongs to the party the source names. Annex 2 is applied by the State Party, not by Nexus. The text read is the third edition (2016).

05External calendars

Major intergovernmental meetings are not GRF events.

Conferences of the Parties, World Health Assemblies, Global Platforms for Disaster Risk Reduction and similar meetings are convened by their own bodies. GRF lists them only where it has an approved activity of its own linked to them, and never implies a role in them.

06What you will find

Each listing is designed to state the same facts.

FieldWhat it tells you
PurposeThe question or decision the activity serves
FormatDialogue, council session, exercise or briefing, and whether it is open or by invitation
Date and placeOnly when confirmed; a city is never presented as a venue without a host record
Host and supportersNamed only with written permission and a current record
RecordWhether a dialogue record, after-action note or recording will be released, and under which rights
07Universe

The annual programme has its own record.

Universe, the annual programme GRF governs, is designed around one year of work, one month to build, one week to test and a planned stand-down. Review and corrections continue afterwards. GRF records its gate decisions, G0 to G7, in its programme scope. No edition is on record yet. Dates and hosts appear only with an edition record, on the Universe gateway and the Universe website. An exercise is a controlled learning activity. It is never incident command and never a public warning.

08Boundaries

A listing is information, not an offer.

  • A listing does not confer membership, a council seat or an invitation to a restricted session.
  • Hosting is not ownership, and sponsorship is not authority over the agenda or the record.
  • GRF does not sell exhibition space or procurement access at its activities.
  • Intergovernmental meetings convened by other bodies are not GRF events, and GRF claims no role in them.

11Questions

Questions and answers.

Why is the calendar empty?
Because GRF lists an activity only when its record exists. Missing information means that nothing is yet confirmed, not that a schedule is being withheld.
How will I know when an activity is announced?
It will appear on this page with its purpose, format, date and terms. Questions about a specific activity can go to the registration form; the acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step.
Can I propose to host an activity?
Yes. Hosting proposals go to the partnership form and are handled under written safeguards. A proposal is not a confirmed host or event. See Host a programme dialogue.
Does GCRI publish its own events?
Yes. Technical sessions led by The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) appear on GCRI events and programme sessions, under the same rule that only recorded activities are listed.

Information and enquiries are open today. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
