Zimbabwe Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Zimbabwe is an annual, hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Zimbabwe, an autonomous coalition of national and international experts focused on resilience, sustainability, and knowledge co-creation. Operating independently from the Government of Zimbabwe and any political affiliation, NWG Zimbabwe provides a neutral platform for advancing disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI) through inclusive, systems-based approaches.
This series is part of the global mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and the Global Risks Forum (GRF)—bringing together stakeholders across the quintuple helix: academia, civil society, private sector, international partners, and public institutions (participating as stakeholders, not organizers).
Strategic Purpose
The Zimbabwe edition is designed to:
- Facilitate independent, forward-looking dialogue on climate variability, drought, public health, food security, and community resilience;
- Integrate cutting-edge technologies into early warning systems, disaster preparedness, risk monitoring, and adaptive governance frameworks;
- Strengthen institutional and societal capacity to manage compound risks, including flooding, economic shocks, infrastructure strain, and environmental stress;
- Engage youth, local communities, academic institutions, and diaspora networks in co-designing inclusive, scalable resilience strategies.
Each session focuses on co-creating actionable tools and frameworks—from hazard simulation and early warning systems to community-led disaster preparedness and sustainable finance mechanisms.
Governance and Participation
NWG Zimbabwe operates independently, in alignment with the global principles of GRA and GRF. The forum is not governed, endorsed, or directed by any government entity, ensuring ethical, transparent, and inclusive engagement across all levels.
Participation is open to researchers, Indigenous leaders, youth networks, women’s groups, climate advocates, technologists, and institutional partners working toward holistic resilience for Zimbabwe and the broader Pacific region.
Join the Movement
We invite local and global collaborators to contribute to the Global Risks Forum – Zimbabwe Series. Join us in designing inclusive governance systems, sustainable finance innovations, and climate-resilient infrastructures that honor Zimbabwe’s culture, biodiversity, and leadership in global resilience efforts.
