Turkmenistan Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Turkmenistan is an annual, hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Turkmenistan, an independent, multidisciplinary network of national and international experts. Operating autonomously from the Government of Turkmenistan and without political affiliation, NWG Turkmenistan provides a neutral platform for inclusive, evidence-based dialogue and systems innovation in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
As part of the broader vision of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF), this national engagement promotes strategic foresight, ethical governance, and frontier technology for resilience. The event brings together stakeholders from across the quintuple helix: academia, civil society, private sector, international partners, and government (participating as stakeholders only).
Strategic Purpose
The Turkmenistan edition is designed to:
- Tackle regional challenges such as water scarcity, extreme heat, desertification, and infrastructure vulnerability;
- Foster anticipatory risk governance through scenario simulation, data analytics, and participatory planning;
- Develop financial innovation mechanisms to support climate adaptation and sustainable energy transitions;
- Bridge knowledge systems between Indigenous traditions, scientific research, and global best practices.
The forum promotes cross-sector collaboration to generate actionable policies, digital governance tools, and regional alignment in resilience building.
Governance and Participation
NWG Turkmenistan operates with complete independence from any government or political authority, in full alignment with the guiding principles of GRA and GRF. Its structure ensures scientific neutrality, transparency, and inclusive engagement across sectors and disciplines.
Participation is open to researchers, engineers, civil society leaders, policy actors, youth, diaspora professionals, and international collaborators. The forum cultivates peer-to-peer learning, regional knowledge exchange, and systems thinking grounded in Turkmenistan’s development priorities.
Join the Movement
We invite technologists, environmental scientists, infrastructure specialists, economists, Indigenous leaders, and resilience advocates to join the Global Risks Forum – Turkmenistan Series. Be part of a global alliance advancing equitable, forward-looking, and place-based strategies to build resilience in Turkmenistan—while contributing to collective global action on systemic risks.
