Türkiye Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Türkiye is an annual, hybrid-format initiative convened by NWG Türkiye, an autonomous and interdisciplinary network of national and international experts. Operating independently from the Government of Türkiye and any political affiliation, NWG Türkiye offers a nonpartisan platform for foresight, dialogue, and systems innovation in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
This series is part of the broader global initiative led by the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF) to address systemic and emerging risks through inclusive governance, ethical technology integration, and evidence-informed collaboration. It brings together actors across the quintuple helix: academia, civil society, private sector, international partners, and government (in a stakeholder—not organizing—capacity).
Strategic Purpose
The Türkiye edition is designed to:
- Address compound risks such as seismic hazards, flooding, urban fragility, wildfires, and regional displacement;
- Advance anticipatory governance and data-driven crisis response across metropolitan and rural areas;
- Support multi-stakeholder development of simulation-based policies and financial resilience mechanisms;
- Connect scientific, Indigenous, and local knowledge systems with global expertise for equitable innovation.
The forum fosters real-time co-creation of risk-informed strategies, bridging Türkiye’s geographic complexity with regional cooperation and international alignment.
Governance and Participation
NWG Türkiye operates with full independence from government or political oversight, in accordance with the ethical and strategic principles of GRA and GRF. All forum activities are grounded in scientific rigor, transparency, and collective intelligence.
Participation is open to researchers, policymakers, community leaders, engineers, civil society organizations, youth innovators, and regional networks. The forum supports south-north learning, inclusive dialogue, and systems transformation grounded in Türkiye’s cultural, geopolitical, and ecological diversity.
Join the Movement
We invite urban resilience experts, financial strategists, environmental scientists, technologists, community organizers, and regional thought leaders to contribute to the Global Risks Forum – Türkiye Series. Help co-design the next generation of risk governance, rooted in Türkiye’s local expertise and connected to a global movement for equitable, adaptive resilience.
