Slovakia Risks Forum

The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Slovakia is an annual, hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Slovakia, an independent coalition of national experts, policy innovators, civic actors, and international partners. Operating independently of the Government of Slovakia and free from political affiliation, NWG Slovakia serves as a nonpartisan platform to address disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI) through forward-thinking collaboration.

In partnership with the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and the Global Risks Forum (GRF), the forum brings together stakeholders from the quintuple helix—academia, civil society, private sector, international institutions, and government (participating in a stakeholder—not organizing—role)—to co-create adaptive governance systems, sustainability strategies, and technology-enabled resilience solutions.

Strategic Purpose

The Slovakia edition is designed to:

  • Address interconnected risks including climate change, flooding, energy transition, demographic change, and digital security;
  • Foster anticipatory governance and regional risk coordination across environmental, health, and infrastructure systems;
  • Advance resilience innovation through smart technologies, circular economy models, and responsible AI adoption;
  • Promote cross-border collaboration in Central and Eastern Europe on shared risk management and sustainability goals.

Sessions focus on simulation-informed decision-making, co-creation of policy frameworks, and multisector risk governance grounded in data, equity, and systems thinking.

Technical Foundation: Nexus Ecosystem Integration

The forum is powered by the Nexus Ecosystem, a modular, quantum-cloud-enabled platform combining artificial intelligence, blockchain, and real-time simulation to support dynamic, multi-level risk governance. Key Nexus capabilities for Slovakia include:

  • AI-driven modeling and forecasting for flood resilience, energy stability, and health system performance
  • Geospatial intelligence for land-use planning, biodiversity protection, and climate adaptation
  • Blockchain-based financial tools for ESG investment, public sector transparency, and risk financing
  • Digital twin environments for infrastructure resilience, regional transport, and emergency response simulation
  • IoT-enabled early warning systems for natural hazards, pollution alerts, and public health events
  • Cyber-physical risk dashboards for critical infrastructure and data sovereignty assurance
  • Benchmarking and risk indices aligned with EU Green Deal, Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), and SDG frameworks

These tools enable Slovak stakeholders to co-develop scalable, evidence-informed resilience strategies with global connectivity and local impact.

Governance and Participation

NWG Slovakia operates with full institutional independence, guided by the ethical, scientific, and participatory standards of the GRA and GRF. It is not affiliated with or accountable to any governmental or political institution, ensuring impartiality, transparency, and broad-based engagement.

Participation is open to researchers, engineers, local governments, financial experts, environmental NGOs, youth networks, and international partners. The forum encourages democratic innovation, civic engagement, and collaborative resilience planning rooted in Slovakia’s development priorities.

Join the Movement

We invite sustainability advocates, digital pioneers, risk analysts, public leaders, and civil society actors to contribute to the Global Risks Forum – Slovakia Series as speakers, co-creators, and partners. Help shape Slovakia’s resilient future through ethical innovation, systems governance, and regional cooperation.
