Republic of the Congo Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Republic of the Congo is an annual, hybrid-format initiative organized by NWG Republic of the Congo, an independent coalition of national experts, civil society leaders, youth innovators, and international collaborators. Operating without affiliation to the Government of the Republic of the Congo or any political organization, NWG Congo provides a neutral and nonpartisan space for advancing innovation and dialogue in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
This edition is embedded within the global framework of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF)—initiatives that champion systemic foresight, cross-sector collaboration, and digital integration to strengthen resilience. The forum connects actors across the quintuple helix—academia, civil society, the private sector, international agencies, and government institutions (as stakeholders, not organizers)—to localize and co-create risk governance strategies tailored to the Republic of the Congo’s context.
Strategic Purpose
The Republic of the Congo edition is developed to:
- Address complex, multi-hazard risks related to environmental degradation, health crises, urbanization, and conflict sensitivity;
- Foster locally led, technology-enabled resilience frameworks in vulnerable regions such as river basins and forested zones;
- Promote sustainable finance mechanisms and inclusive policy design through digital platforms and co-governance;
- Elevate the roles of Indigenous communities, women, and youth in risk planning, knowledge generation, and policy innovation.
Sessions are geared toward impact—generating outputs such as anticipatory governance strategies, community-informed early warning systems, regenerative finance frameworks, and digital simulation tools for policy modeling and decision-making.
Governance and Participation
NWG Republic of the Congo is fully independent in its design, governance, and operations, aligned with the ethical and structural principles of GRA and GRF. It is not affiliated with or accountable to any government or political entity, ensuring that all forum activities are guided by transparency, scientific integrity, and global solidarity.
Participation is open to researchers, policymakers, environmental stewards, community leaders, diaspora networks, and innovators committed to building inclusive futures. The forum emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, strategic foresight, and equitable capacity-building across regional and global systems.
Join the Movement
We invite technologists, climate resilience practitioners, financial institutions, researchers, and grassroots leaders to participate in the Global Risks Forum – Republic of the Congo Series as speakers, contributors, and institutional partners. This is a vital opportunity to shape integrated, risk-informed development strategies rooted in Congo’s ecological and socio-political realities—and connected to a global ecosystem of collaborative innovation.
