Monaco Risks Forum

The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Monaco is a hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Monaco, an autonomous coalition of sustainability experts, financial innovators, ocean scientists, digital technologists, and civil society leaders. Operating independently of the Government of Monaco and all political affiliations, NWG Monaco provides a neutral platform for advancing disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI) through ethical foresight, marine stewardship, and sustainable finance.

In collaboration with the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and the Global Risks Forum (GRF), the Monaco edition bridges local innovation with global governance frameworks. It engages stakeholders from the quintuple helix—academia, civil society, private sector, public institutions (as stakeholders), and international organizations—to build resilience strategies that reflect both planetary and local imperatives.

Strategic Purpose

The Monaco edition is designed to:

  • Address complex risks related to coastal resilience, marine ecosystem degradation, urban density, climate finance, and global supply chain exposure;
  • Advance anticipatory governance models and smart city planning through data-driven foresight and sustainable innovation;
  • Promote disaster risk finance solutions such as green and blue bonds, blockchain-based insurance systems, and ESG-aligned capital strategies;
  • Empower scientific diplomacy, youth leadership, and ocean literacy as key pillars of Monaco’s global sustainability vision.

Sessions will include simulation labs, multi-sector foresight workshops, and co-design initiatives tailored to Monaco’s coastal, economic, and institutional landscape.

Governance and Participation

All NWG Monaco activities are independently governed and executed, in full alignment with the principles of GRA and GRF. The forum is not affiliated with or accountable to any governmental or political body, ensuring scientific neutrality, ethical independence, and inclusive collaboration.

Participation is open to research institutions, financial actors, philanthropic organizations, climate advocates, ocean experts, youth networks, and global partners. The Monaco series fosters knowledge sharing, strategic innovation, and cross-border cooperation for a sustainable future.

Join the Movement

We invite climate finance leaders, marine conservationists, digital innovators, policy advisors, and system thinkers to co-create the Global Risks Forum – Monaco Series. This is a unique opportunity to shape ethical, anticipatory, and scalable resilience strategies—while linking Monaco’s global leadership in sustainability with a worldwide alliance for risk-informed transformation.
