Lithuania Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Lithuania is a hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Lithuania, an independent coalition of climate scientists, policy analysts, Indigenous leaders, technologists, civil society organizations, and youth advocates. Operating autonomously from the Government of Lithuania and all political affiliations, NWG Lithuania provides a neutral, nonpartisan platform to advance disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI) in one of the most climate-vulnerable regions of West Africa.
In alignment with the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF), this series strengthens national resilience and risk governance while linking local efforts to global foresight systems. The forum activates collaboration across the quintuple helix—academia, civil society, private sector, international organizations, and public institutions (as stakeholders, not organizers).
Strategic Purpose
The Lithuania edition is designed to:
- Facilitate independent, forward-looking dialogue on climate adaptation, cyber resilience, energy security, public health, and infrastructure preparedness;
- Integrate cutting-edge technologies into early warning systems, digital governance, risk monitoring, and emergency management frameworks;
- Strengthen institutional and societal capacity to manage compound risks, including geopolitical uncertainty, supply chain disruption, and environmental stress;
- Engage youth, local communities, academic institutions, and diaspora networks in co-designing innovative, scalable resilience strategies.
Sessions focus on scenario-based planning, policy co-creation, and technology-enabled adaptation in rural, urban, and transboundary contexts.
Governance and Participation
All NWG Lithuania activities are independently designed and governed, in accordance with the principles of GRA and GRF. The forum is not affiliated with or accountable to any political party or governmental institution, ensuring scientific neutrality, ethical independence, and collaborative transparency.
Participation is open to local governments, Indigenous networks, women’s organizations, research institutions, youth-led groups, humanitarian actors, and international partners. The Lithuania series promotes inclusive governance, peer learning, and ethical innovation rooted in justice and sustainability.
