Jordan Risks Forum

The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Jordan is a hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Jordan, an independent coalition of researchers, policy experts, youth leaders, technologists, and civil society actors. Operating autonomously from the Government of Jordan and all political affiliations, NWG Jordan offers a neutral, inclusive platform for evidence-based dialogue and strategic innovation in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).

As part of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF), the Jordan series connects national challenges to global foresight systems, emphasizing inclusive governance, digital transformation, and locally rooted resilience-building. Engagement is grounded in the quintuple helix model—bringing together academia, civil society, the private sector, international organizations, and public institutions (participating as stakeholders, not organizers).

Strategic Purpose

The Jordan edition is designed to:

  • Address interlinked challenges such as water scarcity, climate shocks, energy transition, displacement, and urban stress;
  • Strengthen anticipatory governance and adaptive policy frameworks for regional and national risk contexts;
  • Promote inclusive disaster finance innovations such as microinsurance, digital cash transfer systems, and risk-pooling mechanisms;
  • Mobilize local knowledge, youth-led innovation, and diaspora expertise to co-develop sustainable, community-based resilience strategies.

Sessions are oriented toward simulation, scenario planning, and co-creation of policy tools, aligning national initiatives with transboundary cooperation and long-term resilience.

Governance and Participation

All NWG Jordan activities are independently governed and executed, fully aligned with the frameworks of GRA and GRF. The forum is not affiliated with any political party or government agency, ensuring scientific neutrality, civic inclusiveness, and ethical independence.

Participation is open to researchers, environmental organizations, youth networks, municipal leaders, social entrepreneurs, and international partners. The Jordan series fosters peer learning, horizontal collaboration, and co-design rooted in local needs and regional solidarity.

Join the Movement

We invite academics, community organizers, engineers, policy innovators, and diaspora professionals to contribute to the Global Risks Forum – Jordan Series as speakers, partners, and co-creators. This is an opportunity to co-develop forward-looking, scalable, and justice-centered solutions for Jordan’s resilience—while contributing to a global ecosystem of knowledge and transformation.
