Iraq Risks Forum

The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Indonesia is a national, hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Indonesia, an autonomous body of researchers, technologists, community leaders, and risk governance practitioners. Operating independently of the Government of Indonesia and all political affiliations, NWG Indonesia provides a neutral platform for collaborative engagement across disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).

As part of the international framework of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and the Global Risks Forum (GRF), this series positions Indonesia as a key contributor to global resilience strategies. The forum convenes stakeholders from across the quintuple helix—academia, civil society, private sector, international partners, and government institutions (in a stakeholder—not organizational—role).

Strategic Purpose

The Indonesia series is structured to:

  • Foster independent, foresight-driven dialogue on national and transboundary risks—such as climate change, tectonic hazards, urban vulnerability, and food-energy-water nexus challenges;
  • Advance the use of frontier technologies for climate adaptation, early warning, and policy design;
  • Support innovative disaster risk finance mechanisms including microinsurance, adaptive social protection, and anticipatory budgeting;
  • Promote community-led and culturally grounded solutions through engagement with Indigenous groups, coastal communities, and urban networks.

Each session is grounded in systems thinking and participatory co-design, enabling dynamic simulation, scenario planning, and policy prototyping to address Indonesia’s complex risk landscape.

Governance and Participation

All NWG Indonesia activities are independently organized and governed, in accordance with GRA and GRF principles. The forum maintains strict independence from any governmental or partisan institution, ensuring that outputs are rooted in scientific validity, public accountability, and ethical collaboration.

Participation is open to researchers, youth innovators, coastal and Indigenous communities, city planners, diaspora professionals, financial institutions, and international development partners. The series cultivates peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, open innovation, and regional resilience-building within Indonesia’s diverse and decentralized governance landscape.

Join the Movement

We invite thought leaders, community actors, policy architects, technologists, and financial experts to take part in the Global Risks Forum – Indonesia Series as speakers, partners, and co-creators. Help shape anticipatory risk governance systems, inclusive digital infrastructure, and locally relevant solutions tailored to Indonesia’s archipelagic geography—within a globally connected ecosystem of foresight and transformation.

Let me know if you’d like a speaker invitation draft, event toolkit, or partnership onboarding brief to support coordination and outreach for NWG Indonesia.
