India Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: India is a flagship, hybrid-format platform initiated by NWG India, an independent network of scientists, policy experts, technologists, civil society leaders, and innovators. Operating free from affiliation with the Government of India or any political institutions, NWG India serves as a neutral, nonpartisan forum for dialogue and innovation in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
As part of the broader frameworks of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF), the India edition connects local priorities with global systems, enhancing resilience through data-driven strategies, collaborative foresight, and inclusive governance. The forum is grounded in the quintuple helix model—linking academia, civil society, private sector, international partners, and government actors (as stakeholders, not organizers).
Strategic Purpose
The India series is designed to:
- Enable open, foresight-based engagement on complex and interconnected risks—ranging from climate, infrastructure, and public health to cybersecurity and economic shocks;
- Build national and subnational capacity for anticipatory governance and systems resilience;
- Advance innovative models in disaster financing, public-private coordination, and ethical tech deployment;
- Integrate regional knowledge, Indigenous perspectives, and diaspora expertise into actionable resilience pathways.
Through simulation-driven sessions, scenario labs, and stakeholder co-design, the forum supports both long-term policy architecture and localized implementation frameworks.
Governance and Participation
All NWG India activities are independently designed and managed, maintaining full alignment with GRA and GRF principles. The forum is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency or political body, ensuring scientific integrity, ethical transparency, and collaborative autonomy.
Participation is open to practitioners, academic institutions, technologists, community organizations, diaspora professionals, and youth leaders. The series emphasizes co-production of knowledge, cross-sector learning, and governance innovations rooted in India’s democratic and pluralistic values.
Join the Movement
We invite researchers, policymakers, engineers, financiers, local leaders, and global collaborators to co-shape the Global Risks Forum – India Series as speakers, contributors, or strategic partners.
