Honduras Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Honduras is a flagship, hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Honduras, an autonomous network of experts, practitioners, and innovators working independently of the Honduran government or political affiliations. It serves as a neutral, evidence-based platform dedicated to advancing disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI) across local and regional contexts.
As part of the wider Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF) framework, the Honduras series contributes to global efforts to build systemic resilience through technology integration, anticipatory governance, and participatory innovation. It brings together actors from the quintuple helix: academia, civil society, private sector, international organizations, and public sector stakeholders (non-governmental roles).
Strategic Purpose
The Honduras edition is designed to:
- Provide a trusted, nonpartisan space for foresight-based analysis and solution-building;
- Support the integration of advanced technologies into multi-hazard planning and resilience policy;
- Catalyze innovative disaster finance and governance systems that address the compound risks facing Honduras;
- Engage local communities, Indigenous leadership, and diaspora networks in the co-design of place-based strategies.
Each session is structured to enable high-impact collaboration, simulation exercises, policy innovation, and cross-sectoral learning focused on long-term sustainability, equity, and accountability.
Governance and Participation
All activities facilitated by NWG Honduras are independently developed and managed in accordance with GRA and GRF principles. The forum maintains full autonomy from political institutions, ensuring that its work is grounded in scientific integrity, local relevance, and global solidarity.
Participation is inclusive and open to researchers, youth leaders, professionals, Indigenous and rural communities, and institutional partners. The series fosters transparent dialogue, mutual learning, and strategic co-creation to address critical gaps in risk governance across the country.
Join the Movement
We invite stakeholders across disciplines—scientists, policymakers, civil society leaders, diaspora members, and financial actors—to engage with the Global Risks Forum – Honduras Series as contributors, partners, and co-creators. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate on future-ready solutions for Honduras’s resilience landscape while remaining connected to a broader global alliance dedicated to risk-informed innovation and justice-centered governance.
