Greece Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Greece is a high-level, hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Greece, an autonomous, interdisciplinary platform of experts, academics, and civil society leaders. Operating independently from the Government of Greece and unaffiliated with any political party, NWG Greece provides a nonpartisan environment for strategic dialogue, innovation, and collaboration in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
This series contributes to the broader mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF)—a globally networked ecosystem advancing anticipatory governance, cross-sector resilience, and systems innovation. The Greek edition convenes stakeholders from the quintuple helix—academia, civil society, private sector, international institutions, and public agencies (as participants, not organizers)—to co-create evidence-based solutions for systemic risks impacting the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond.
Strategic Purpose
The Greece series is designed to:
- Facilitate independent, forward-looking dialogue on climate shocks, seismic risk, migration, tourism sustainability, and infrastructure resilience;
- Integrate cutting-edge technologies into early warning, coastal adaptation, and risk governance systems;
- Strengthen institutional capacity to manage compound risks, from wildfires and earthquakes to public health emergencies;
- Engage youth, island communities, academic institutions, and diaspora networks in co-designing culturally grounded, scalable resilience strategies.
Forum sessions are outcome-driven—supporting the development of simulation-based policy designs, risk-informed finance mechanisms, and adaptive governance structures aligned with Greece’s sustainability and development priorities.
Governance and Participation
All activities coordinated by NWG Greece are independently designed and implemented in alignment with the frameworks of GRA and GRF. The forum is fully autonomous from any governmental or political entity, ensuring its operations are guided by scientific excellence, inclusive ethics, and a commitment to open knowledge.
Participation is open to academics, municipal leaders, technologists, civil society organizations, private sector innovators, youth advocates, and international collaborators dedicated to building a just, sustainable, and resilient future for Greece and the region.
Join the Movement
We invite national and global stakeholders to participate in the Global Risks Forum – Greece Series as partners, contributors, and co-creators. Together, we can co-design anticipatory governance systems, ethical innovation ecosystems, and climate-resilient strategies that reflect Greece’s regional influence, cultural richness, and environmental complexity—while contributing to a global community of action.
