Eswatini Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Eswatini is a strategic, hybrid-format platform led by NWG Eswatini, an autonomous coalition of national and international experts. Operating independently from the Government of Eswatini and without affiliation to any political group, NWG Eswatini creates a nonpartisan space for dialogue, innovation, and collective action in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
This national engagement contributes to the mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF)—a globally connected initiative advancing systems-based resilience through collaborative foresight, emerging technologies, and inclusive governance. The series connects stakeholders from the quintuple helix—academia, civil society, private sector, international actors, and government (as participants, not organizers)—to address systemic risks in the national and regional context.
Strategic Purpose
The Eswatini series is designed to:
-
Facilitate independent dialogue on systemic risks related to climate variability, drought, food security, public health, and community resilience;
-
Strengthen anticipatory governance through improved risk assessment, early warning systems, and preparedness planning;
-
Promote inclusive innovation by connecting local knowledge, youth leadership, and technological tools for resilience-building;
-
Support risk-informed finance, adaptation strategies, and cross-sector planning for sustainable and equitable development.
Forum sessions aim to produce actionable results—delivering strategic frameworks, simulation-informed policies, and finance models rooted in equity, transparency, and long-term resilience.
Governance and Participation
All activities conducted by NWG Eswatini are independently designed and implemented in accordance with the global frameworks of the GRA and GRF. The forum maintains full neutrality from government or political influence, ensuring an approach grounded in science, ethics, and global partnership.
Participation is open to researchers, innovators, Indigenous and community leaders, youth advocates, private sector actors, and public administrators who are committed to shaping equitable, forward-looking governance systems.
Join the Movement
We welcome collaborators from across Eswatini and the international community to engage in the Global Risks Forum – Eswatini Series. This is an opportunity to co-develop anticipatory governance models, climate finance instruments, and inclusive innovation systems tailored to the country’s unique challenges—while contributing to a global ecosystem of resilience, sustainability, and solidarity.
