Colombia Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Colombia is an annual, hybrid-format event spearheaded by NWG Colombia, an independent, multidisciplinary alliance of researchers, Indigenous leaders, civil society actors, technologists, and diaspora networks. Operating independently of the Government of Colombia and all political affiliations, NWG Colombia provides a trusted, nonpartisan platform for high-level dialogue, systemic foresight, and collaborative innovation across disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
This edition forms part of the wider mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and the Global Risks Forum (GRF)—global initiatives dedicated to addressing complex, interconnected risks through ethical governance, integrated technologies, and cross-sectoral knowledge ecosystems. The forum enables cooperation among the quintuple helix of actors—academia, civil society, government (as stakeholder, not organizer), private sector, and international organizations—bridging local priorities with global innovation platforms.
Strategic Purpose
The Colombia series is designed to:
- Promote inclusive, evidence-based dialogue on multi-hazard, climate, and socio-political risks;
- Strengthen anticipatory governance and sustainable finance mechanisms for Colombia’s vulnerable regions, including Amazonia and coastal zones;
- Support Indigenous and Afro-descendant leadership in place-based resilience and ecological knowledge systems;
- Enable decentralized innovation through engagement with youth, rural communities, and transnational networks.
The event is solutions-oriented, focused on advancing simulation-driven public policy, community-based early warning systems, participatory budget frameworks, and regenerative development models across urban and rural contexts.
Governance and Participation
NWG Colombia operates with full independence from the state and political institutions, ensuring alignment with the ethical standards and operational frameworks of the GRA and GRF. All engagements are guided by principles of equity, autonomy, scientific integrity, and global solidarity.
Participation is open to policymakers, grassroots leaders, researchers, technologists, and community organizers who are committed to shaping inclusive and regenerative futures. The forum facilitates horizontal collaboration, transdisciplinary exchange, and the strategic empowerment of underrepresented groups in Colombia’s risk governance landscape.
Join the Movement
We invite ecosystem innovators, policy actors, environmental defenders, financial institutions, and youth leaders to participate in the Global Risks Forum – Colombia Series as contributors, collaborators, and strategic partners. This is a vital opportunity to co-create anticipatory systems, climate justice frameworks, and sustainable finance pathways—rooted in Colombia’s pluralistic realities and connected to a global ecosystem of resilience and innovation.
