Chad Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Chad is a hybrid-format national initiative led by NWG Chad, an independent, multidisciplinary coalition of researchers, Indigenous leaders, civil society actors, humanitarian organizations, youth networks, and diaspora professionals. Operating independently of the Government of Chad and without any political affiliation, NWG Chad offers a nonpartisan, evidence-based platform for advancing solutions in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
This forum contributes to the broader mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF)—global platforms dedicated to anticipatory governance, cross-sectoral innovation, and ethical resilience building. The Chad edition convenes stakeholders across the quintuple helix: academia, civil society, private sector, international organizations, and government (as non-governing participants).
Strategic Purpose
The Chad series is designed to:
- Address interconnected risks such as climate change, desertification, food and water insecurity, regional displacement, and governance fragility;
- Foster anticipatory governance and local capacity through participatory planning, foresight tools, and real-time intelligence;
- Promote financial innovation through mechanisms like adaptive social protection, climate-linked insurance, and resilience bonds;
- Elevate Indigenous knowledge systems, youth leadership, and cross-border collaboration to support inclusive, community-centered adaptation strategies.
Sessions will result in tangible outputs including localized climate adaptation plans, digital risk governance tools, mobile-accessible finance platforms, and early warning systems tailored to vulnerable regions.
Governance and Participation
NWG Chad operates with full independence, in accordance with the ethical principles and global standards of GRA and GRF. It is not affiliated with or accountable to any political institution or government body, ensuring that all dialogues, processes, and outcomes reflect transparency, scientific integrity, and inclusive engagement.
Participation is open to humanitarian actors, Indigenous communities, youth networks, agroecological innovators, civil society leaders, researchers, and international collaborators committed to systemic resilience and justice-centered development.
Join the Movement
We invite policymakers, educators, peacebuilders, climate scientists, social entrepreneurs, diaspora leaders, and global partners to join the Global Risks Forum – Chad Series as speakers, co-creators, and contributors. This platform offers a vital opportunity to co-design anticipatory governance systems, inclusive finance strategies, and regenerative pathways that honor Chad’s ecological challenges, cultural diversity, and regional leadership potential.
