Bahrain Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Bahrain is a hybrid-format convening led by NWG Bahrain, an autonomous body of experts, youth leaders, and cross-sector stakeholders committed to fostering systemic foresight and inclusive innovation. Operating independently of the Government of Bahrain or any political affiliation, NWG Bahrain offers a neutral, science-based platform to advance solutions in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
This national forum contributes to the broader mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and the Global Risks Forum (GRF)—a planetary initiative fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration, anticipatory governance, and technological transformation in the face of global risks. It engages participants across the quintuple helix—academia, private sector, civil society, international partners, and government actors (as observers and stakeholders, not organizers).
Strategic Purpose
The Bahrain series aims to:
- Address systemic and emergent risks including climate adaptation, economic diversification, cybersecurity, and water stress;
- Promote digital transformation and innovation in emergency response and long-term resilience planning;
- Foster financial resilience through smart insurance tools, green bonds, and public-private risk-sharing mechanisms;
- Amplify youth innovation, diaspora expertise, and civic participation in national and regional governance frameworks.
Through strategic dialogue, simulation-based workshops, and multi-sectoral innovation labs, the forum supports the co-creation of operational frameworks, anticipatory finance strategies, and policy design prototypes suited to Bahrain’s development trajectory and regional context.
Governance and Participation
NWG Bahrain operates with full independence, aligned with the guiding values of the GRA and GRF. The forum is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or accountable to any political or governmental institution, ensuring integrity, scientific objectivity, and inclusive participation.
Participation is open to academic researchers, policymakers, urban planners, financial experts, digital innovators, youth organizations, and civil society actors working toward a resilient and just future for Bahrain. The event promotes cross-disciplinary learning and horizontal governance through open collaboration and inclusive dialogue.
Join the Movement
We invite innovators, technologists, resilience leaders, regional collaborators, and global institutions to join the Global Risks Forum – Bahrain Series as speakers, partners, and contributors. This is a strategic platform for designing anticipatory governance systems, building smart financial instruments, and advancing resilience-centered development for Bahrain and the broader Gulf region.
