Antigua and Barbuda Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Antigua and Barbuda is an annual, hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Antigua and Barbuda, an autonomous network of national experts, youth leaders, diaspora voices, and international collaborators. Operating independently of any governmental or political body, the NWG provides a nonpartisan and evidence-based space for policy innovation and interdisciplinary dialogue on disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
This national edition aligns with the overarching mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF)—a planetary initiative dedicated to systemic foresight, transformative collaboration, and frontier technology integration in resilience-building. The forum facilitates multi-stakeholder engagement across the quintuple helix—government (as a stakeholder), academia, civil society, private sector, and international organizations—bridging local expertise with global innovation.
Strategic Purpose
The Antigua and Barbuda series aims to:
- Strengthen national dialogue on multi-hazard risks in the context of small island developing states (SIDS);
- Integrate technological foresight and real-time intelligence into adaptation and resilience strategies;
- Mobilize financial innovation and policy design for climate-resilient infrastructure and ecosystems;
- Catalyze community-led and diaspora-supported solutions through inclusive co-governance models.
The event is action-oriented, designed to generate tangible outputs such as national adaptation frameworks, anticipatory action protocols, participatory budgeting tools, and simulation-driven disaster preparedness policies.
Governance and Participation
All activities under NWG Antigua and Barbuda are independently led and self-governed, in alignment with GRA and GRF global principles. The NWG operates without governmental affiliation or endorsement, ensuring that all processes, deliberations, and outcomes are grounded in ethical independence, scientific rigor, and multilateral cooperation.
Participation is open to researchers, practitioners, policymakers, entrepreneurs, Indigenous leaders, youth, and community organizers dedicated to shaping inclusive futures for Antigua and Barbuda. Emphasis is placed on equitable knowledge exchange, diaspora engagement, and horizontal learning across national and global networks.
Join the Movement
We invite climate resilience leaders, technology innovators, financial institutions, academic partners, and grassroots organizers to join the Global Risks Forum – Antigua and Barbuda Series as contributors, speakers, and strategic partners. This is a unique opportunity to co-create risk-informed futures, develop anticipatory policy tools, and strengthen local-to-global resilience systems—anchored in the realities and aspirations of Antigua and Barbuda.
