The Nexus cycle on The Global Risks ForumA question from a programme becomes evidence, a governed build, an organized community, a controlled test, a reviewed publication and a decision taken by the competent authority. Design of the cycle, not a record of a run.

01In brief

The short answer.

Decide is step seven of the eight-step Nexus cycle: the step at which competent authorities and institutions decide under their own rules, with handoffs through Nexus Rails. It is owned by competent authorities and institutions, with handoffs through Nexus Rails. At this step GRF supports decision-makers without deciding for them, and the decision at the end of the cycle stays with the competent authority.

04Whose decision

Decisions are taken elsewhere and recorded here.

At the decide step, the institution that owns the question takes, or declines to take, a decision under its own procedure: a ministerial order, a board resolution, a council decision of a basin commission. GRF does not decide for it and does not advise it to decide. What GRF records is that a decision was taken, by whom, with reference to which dialogue record and evidence brief, and what was not adopted.
