Azerbaijan Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Azerbaijan is a hybrid-format initiative convened by NWG Azerbaijan, an autonomous network of multidisciplinary experts, youth leaders, diaspora professionals, and community innovators. Independent from any governmental or political entity, NWG Azerbaijan functions as a neutral, evidence-based platform for advancing dialogue and innovation in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
This national edition supports the strategic vision of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and the Global Risks Forum (GRF)—a planetary initiative dedicated to tackling systemic risks through foresight, multilateral collaboration, and next-generation technology. The forum connects stakeholders across the quintuple helix—including civil society, academia, private sector, international partners, and government actors (participating solely as stakeholders).
Strategic Purpose
The Azerbaijan series is designed to:
- Address emerging and systemic risks—such as seismic vulnerability, water stress, regional conflict spillovers, and energy transition challenges;
- Promote anticipatory governance and institutional innovation through scenario planning and real-time intelligence;
- Catalyze investments in sustainable infrastructure and nature-based solutions using smart financial instruments;
- Elevate the role of youth, Indigenous knowledge systems, and diaspora communities in shaping inclusive risk governance.
Through simulation workshops, policy co-design sessions, and multi-stakeholder dialogues, the forum will produce actionable roadmaps and resilient financing strategies tailored to Azerbaijan’s national and regional context.
Governance and Participation
NWG Azerbaijan operates with complete independence, in alignment with the guiding frameworks of GRA and GRF. The forum is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or accountable to any political body or government authority, maintaining the integrity and objectivity of all sessions and outputs.
Participation is open to professionals, researchers, municipal leaders, youth organizers, private innovators, and international collaborators committed to shaping a resilient and just future for Azerbaijan. Emphasis is placed on cross-sector learning, regional foresight, and ethical innovation.
Join the Movement
We invite public sector visionaries, academic institutions, civil society organizations, technology developers, and global partners to join the Global Risks Forum – Azerbaijan Series as contributors, facilitators, and co-creators. This platform offers a strategic opportunity to collaboratively design forward-looking policy tools, anticipatory finance mechanisms, and community-based resilience models that reflect Azerbaijan’s unique challenges and strengths within the global resilience ecosystem.
