Most major institutional failures, from financial crises to infrastructure collapses and public health breakdowns, were preceded by warnings that existed but did not reach, or did not move, the people with authority to act. Inquiries return to the same causes again and again: decision rights that were unclear or split across bodies, boards that lacked the information or independence to challenge management, incentives that rewarded short-term results, and oversight that examined compliance with rules rather than the risks the rules were meant to control.

Governance science studies these patterns systematically: how institutions allocate authority, how they handle uncertainty, how they guard against capture and how they learn from failure. It draws on political science, public administration, law, organisational studies and decision science, and it is comparative by nature, because the same problem is handled very differently across countries, sectors and organisations.
بۆچی ئێستا: ئەنجومەنی بەڕێوەبەرایەتی و لەشە گشتییەکان ئەرکی نوێ دەگرنە ئەستۆ، لە ئەرکی خۆڕاگری لەسەر کارپێکەرانی ژێرخانی هەستیار تا پێداویستییەکانی چاودێریی مرۆیی requirements for AI, and recent failures show how often accountability arrives too late. Governance Nexus compares how decisions are made, checked and corrected, tests decision rights in Universe exercises, and can propose common formats, such as a decision-rights record, to the Nexus Standards.
