01In brief

The short answer.

Governance Nexus is a specialist platform of The Global Risks Forum for governance and institutions as well as risk management and systemic risk. Its mandate covers comparative governance of institutions and systems exposed to compounding risk and technology change. GRF publishes it, answers for its content and takes no decision on anyone's behalf. It is established and works at service level R0, information and enquiries.

Mandate to authority.

How Governance Nexus is governedA mandate sets the platform's scope; an editor and reviewers govern what it publishes; programmes and the community supply the work; the integrity route handles corrections; authority over decisions stays outside. Design of the governance, not a record.

03Geography

People and hazards in Asia.

For mandate, publisher and status, in GRF's situational-awareness reading, the map opens on population density, night lights and flood water, framed on Asia; every other NASA layer, live feed and forecast waits in the layer list.

The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

04Mandate

What the platform exists to do.

The mandate is to convene and document comparative governance: how institutions allocate authority, account for decisions, design assurance and controls, and resist capture. It preserves an existing community and published site, whose activity is published as its records are confirmed.

Field

Scope

Governance and institutions, and risk management and systemic risk.

Community

Who takes part

Governance scholars, board specialists, compliance officers and institutional leaders.

Outputs

What it is designed to publish

Governance case studies, decision-rights methods and ethics guidance.

05Remit

Who decides, who checks and who answers for shared risk.

Governance Nexus studies the structures around risk decisions: boards and their risk committees, delegations of authority, oversight bodies, multi-stakeholder councils and the integrity rules that keep them from capture. Its core method is the decision-rights map, which records who can lawfully decide, under which instrument and on what trigger.

  • In scope: organisational and public risk governance, oversight, integrity, council design.
  • Out of scope: governance ratings and compliance opinions.
06Publisher

Who is responsible.

GRF publishes Governance Nexus and answers for its content. GRF is a Swiss association governed by its statutory organs under its articles of association.

  • Editorial responsibility: a platform editor and named subject reviewers, with conflicts of interest declared.
  • Methods: institutional role mapping, accountability analysis and assurance and control design, documented on methods.
  • Corrections: reported and logged on corrections.
07Limits

What the platform does not do.

  • It does not regulate, finance, procure or certify, and it does not audit or rate any institution.
  • It does not give legal advice or tell any board or authority what to decide.
  • Hosting, sponsorship or participation confers no authority over findings and no endorsement.
  • Councils and working groups formed in the programme hold no legal authority over any public body; see council formation and power.
08Professional status

Established, at R0.

Governance Nexus is an established GRF platform. Participation is professional and voluntary; contributions are made in a personal or institutional capacity as recorded, and no title or role on the platform is a professional qualification. Enquiries go to contact@globalriskforum.com; the acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step.

09Connections

Where the platform sits in the Consortium.

Governance Nexus is one of the governance platforms of GRF, alongside platforms such as AI and Digital Governance and Disaster and Crisis Governance. Its scientific counterparts at The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) include Systemic Risk Management, and its financial-sector counterparts at The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) include Financial Regulation Nexus. Each institution keeps its own mandate: GCRI does science, GRF governs and convenes, and GRA builds shared industry understanding.
