United Kingdom Risks Forum
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: United Kingdom is an annual, hybrid-format initiative led by NWG United Kingdom, an autonomous network of UK-based and international experts. Operating free from government affiliation or political alignment, NWG UK offers a neutral platform for foresight-driven dialogue and applied innovation in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF) to facilitate collaborative responses to systemic and emerging global threats. It brings together multi-sectoral stakeholders from the quintuple helix—including academic institutions, civil society, the private sector, government stakeholders (non-organizing participants), and international organizations.
Strategic Purpose
The UK series is designed to:
- Explore governance challenges at the intersection of climate risk, cybersecurity, infrastructure resilience, and public trust;
- Support decentralized innovation and anticipatory regulation for emerging technologies and global finance;
- Advance inclusive, risk-informed systems for climate justice, urban planning, and digital governance;
- Strengthen the UK’s role in shaping ethical global frameworks for AI, planetary health, and green transition finance.
Sessions emphasize transdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based systems thinking, producing strategic outputs such as simulation-based policy tools, adaptive regulatory models, and scalable risk financing mechanisms.
Governance and Participation
All activities under NWG UK are independently initiated and executed, in full alignment with the guiding principles of GRA and GRF. The forum is not affiliated with any government department or political party, ensuring that dialogue remains transparent, equitable, and nonpartisan.
Participation is open to researchers, institutions, community leaders, technologists, financiers, and public innovators committed to shaping resilient futures for the UK and beyond. The series promotes peer-to-peer learning, knowledge co-creation, and cross-sectoral experimentation.
Join the Movement
We invite UK-based and international actors—scholars, policymakers, investors, technologists, and civil society leaders—to take part in the Global Risks Forum – UK Series. This is your opportunity to shape the design of next-generation governance systems, finance solutions, and resilience strategies rooted in global solidarity and local innovation.
