Specialist governance communities
Five specialist governance communities are proposed for future deployment on globalriskforum.com: Climate and Nature Governance, Disaster and Crisis Governance, AI and Digital Governance, Health and Biosecurity Governance, and Information Integrity and Public Trust. Each would give a distinct subject its own community, editors and methods, where the seven established platforms do not cover it in enough depth. All five are in development. Their pages describe what each is designed to do; none has an active community, programme or publication until it is approved and established.

The short answer.
Specialist governance communities are five GRF platforms proposed for future deployment: Climate and Nature Governance, Disaster and Crisis Governance, AI and Digital Governance, Health and Biosecurity Governance, and Information Integrity and Public Trust. Each would give a distinct governance subject its own community, editors and methods; all five are in development.

Each community is in development; statuses in this table refer to the instruments, not to the communities.
Where the established platforms need depth.
Each proposed community addresses a governance subject with its own institutions, legal frameworks and professional networks. A separate community is proposed only where a subject is distinct from the seven established platforms and would otherwise be spread thinly across them.
A distinct field
A subject with its own institutions and frameworks, not a topic already covered by an established platform.
Identified people
Editors and contributors with the competence to sustain reviewed work.
Accountable operation
An owner able to run the community, its corrections and its rights controls.
Sub-communities inside the platforms.
Eleven chapters are routed as sub-communities inside GRF platforms, each with its own focus, among them Science Diplomacy, Global Commons Governance, Energy and Critical Infrastructure Governance and Water and Food Security Governance. A chapter becomes its own site only after a published review against a ten-point dossier, which includes a distinct field boundary, qualified editors, cornerstone briefs, rights controls and operating ownership.
A proposal is not a commitment to launch. Until a community is established, it holds no events, admits no members and publishes no findings in its own name.
Where these subjects are worked on today.
Until the communities are established, GRF convenes these subjects through its programmes and the risk governance areas, such as climate and nature governance and digital and AI governance. The established platforms are on the seven established disciplines, and the network overview on GRF specialist sites. The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) studies the same fields as science, for example in climate and hazards.
Terms used on this page.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Chapter | In the Nexus network, a specialist sub-community inside a platform with its own group, editor and research agenda; it can become its own platform only by meeting the published graduation rule. |
| Risk governance | The institutions, rules and processes through which risks are identified, assessed, managed and communicated, as the IRGC framework sets out. |
| Claim ceiling | The strongest statement a page may make about a capability, set by the evidence on record; without operating evidence a page describes a design or an integration, never readiness. |
