01In brief

The short answer.

Governance Nexus research is the evidence work behind the platform: questions such as organizational governance and risk governance, answered with policy, institutional and decision science as well as decision analysis under uncertainty and reviewed before publication. Every result carries an evidence label, from observed to modelled or expert judgement, and missing data is shown as missing, never filled silently.

Research and institutional knowledge: from a source to a labelled evidence recordA source is registered with its licence and steward, checked for quality and coverage, labelled by evidence class, versioned and published with a passport; corrections create a new version. Design of the process, not a record of a run.

03Geography

People and hazards in Asia.

For research and institutional knowledge, in GRF's situational-awareness reading, the map opens on population density, true-colour imagery and night lights, framed on Asia; every other NASA layer, live feed and forecast waits in the layer list.

The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

05Key terms

Terms used on this page.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.

TermDefinition
Research integrityConduct of research in line with principles of reliability, honesty, respect and accountability, as the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity sets them out.
Evidence labelA tag naming the kind of evidence, such as observed or modelled, that should survive every summary.
ReproducibilityObtaining the same results from the same data and code; replicability means obtaining consistent results from new data.
Risk managementCoordinated activities to direct and control an organization with regard to risk, in ISO 31000 terms.
06Evidence

Every result keeps its label.

Results are labelled as observed, officially reported, estimated, modelled, forecast, scenario or expert judgement. Missing data is shown as missing, never filled silently.

08Questions

Questions and answers.

Can I propose a research question?
Yes. Write to contact@globalriskforum.com with the question, the context and who would use the answer. A proposal receives a reference; it does not commit the platform to the work.
