The Global Risks Forum (GRF)
Urban and Community Governance is a chapter of Governance Nexus: a specialist sub-community with its own group, editor and research agenda. Cities and communities under Governance Nexus.
Urban and Community Governance is a chapter of Governance Nexus: a specialist sub-community with its own group, editor and research agenda. Its work starts from the cornerstone topic, subnational governance. Local government is the tier of public authority closest to residents, and with regional government it often meets risks first: floods, heat, outbreaks, service failures and local conflict. A chapter becomes a platform of its own only by meeting the graduation rule.

Land use, building control, drainage and first response are usually local. The chapter studies how cities and communities govern risk, drawing on the Making Cities Resilient 2030 initiative, the New Urban Agenda and community-based disaster risk management.

The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
