DESCRIPTION:This registration form is ONLY for those representatives of the UN Funds, Programmes, Regional Commissions and Other Entities who wish to attend the Conference in person.\nVenue: Nice, France (In-Person Only)\nDate: 9 -13 June 2025\nBackground\nThe high-level 2025 United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development (the 2025 UN Ocean Conference) will be held in Nice, France, from 9 – 13 June 2025, co-hosted by France and Costa Rica.\nThe overarching theme of the Conference is “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”. The Conference, comprising an opening segment, ten plenary sessions, ten Ocean Action Panels and a closing segment, aims to support further and urgent action to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development and identify further ways and means to support the implementation of SDG 14. It will build on existing instruments to form successful partnerships towards the swift conclusion and effective implementation of ongoing processes that contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of the ocean. The Conference shall adopt, by consensus a brief, concise, action oriented and intergovernmentally agreed declaration, which along with a list of voluntary commitments, will be referred to as “Nice Ocean Action Plan”.\nThe Conference will involve all relevant stakeholders, bringing together Governments, the United Nations system, intergovernmental organizations, international financial institutions, other interested international bodies, non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions, the scientific community, the private sector, philanthropic organizations, Indigenous Peoples and local communities and other actors to assess challenges and opportunities relating to, as well as actions taken towards, the implementation of Goal 14.\nRegistrationwill close on19 May 2025 at 23:59 EDT.\nPlease Note\nThere is no cap for UN system delegation.However, each profile must be submittedindividually.\nUpon approval of your registration, you will receive an approval letter via email confirming your in-person participation.\nFor guidance on the registration process please check:\nFAQs for Indico registrations | Department of Economic and Social Affairs\nFor inquiries, please email to unoc2025@un.orgwith subject line [UNOC3 UN Registration] in the subject for funds, programmes, regional commissions and other entities, and [UNOC3 UN Secretariat] for the Secretariat staff.\nFor more information on the 2025 UN Ocean Conference, please visit :2025 UN Ocean Conference | Department of Economic and Social Affairs (un.org)\nImportant information about visas\nIt is the responsibility of the participants to check whether they need a visa to enter France. Registering for the UN Ocean Conference does not exempt participants from obtaining an entry visa to French national territory. Kindly note that visas cannot be issued on arrival.\nTo inquire about the need for a visa, as well as all visa related matters/requirements, participants are invited to visit a French consular service or the France Visas portal athttps://france-visas.gouv.fr/. Participants in need of a visa are advised to submit their applications well in advance before departure from the country of origin.The minimum visa processing time is 3 weeks. Late submission may make it impossible to process the application in time. The status of conference guest or participant also does not exempt participants from completing the visa application form and providing the supporting documents required by regulations. Note that this “email approval” issued by the United Nations may be used as one of the supporting documents for visa application but it does not guarantee entrance to France.
