Efficient transit operations mitigate delays, reduce costs, and maintain access to essential products. This not only protects national and regional economies during disruptions but also builds long term trade competitiveness by fostering trust among trading partners.\nThe course aims at strengthening national expertise on regional and international transit issues. It supports the implementation of Article 11 of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA), which aims to operationalize freedom of transit for goods by clarifying relevant provisions under GATT Article V. WTO TFA Article 11 establishes specific measures related to regulations, formalities, documentation requirements, and customs controls for goods in transit.\nCourse format\nThis online course, offered in English and Spanish, consists of three self-paced modules delivered over a four-week period, supplemented by live webinars with invited experts who will share experiences and best practices on transit.\nThese sessions provide participants with valuable opportunities to engage with experts, exchange insights, and learn from peers.\nThe total course duration is approximately 10 hours.\nCourse Content\nThe course covers the following topics:\nModule 1: Understanding Transit\nModule 2: Transit Challenges and Solutions\nModule 3: The Role of National Transit Coordinators\nA completion certificatewill be granted to participants who complete the e-learning assignments accompanying this course.\n10 June: Opening Ceremony and Module 1 webinar (13:00-15:00 CET)\n10 June to 7 July: participants complete the course\n16 June: Module 2 webinar (13:00-15:00 CET)\n23 June:Module 3 webinar (13:00-15:00 CET)\n7 July: Closing ceremony webinar (13:00-15:00 CET)\n——\nCurso en línea de Coordinación de Tránsito\nEl buen funcionamiento de los sistemas de tránsito es especialmente importante en tiempos de interrupciones del comercio y de la cadena de suministro, ya que garantizan un movimiento constante de mercancías a través de las fronteras, mantienen las cadenas de suministro cruciales y apoyan la resiliencia económica. Las operaciones de tránsito eficientes mitigan los retrasos, reducen los costos y refuerzan el acceso a productos esenciales. Esto no solo protege a las economías nacionales y regionales durante las interrupciones, sino que también fomenta la competitividad comercial a largo plazo al reforzar la confianza entre los socios comerciales.\nEl curso tiene como objetivo fortalecer los conocimientos nacionales sobre cuestiones de tránsito regional e internacional. Apoya igualmente la aplicación del artículo 11 del Acuerdo sobre Facilitación del Comercio (AFC) de la OMC, cuyo objetivo es poner en práctica la libertad de tránsito de las mercancías mediante la aclaración de las disposiciones pertinentes del artículo V del Acuerdo General sobre Aranceles Aduaneros y Comercio (GATT). El artículo 11 del AFC de la OMC establece medidas específicas relacionadas con los reglamentos, las formalidades, los requisitos de documentación y los controles aduaneros de las mercancías en tránsito.\nFormato del curso\nEste curso en línea, disponible tanto en español como en inglés, cuenta con tres módulos que puede seguir a su propio ritmo y que se imparten durante un período de cuatro semanas.
