SUMMARY:Vanuatu Risks Forum
DESCRIPTION:The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Vanuatu is an annual, hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Vanuatu, an autonomous coalition of national and international experts focused on resilience, sustainability, and knowledge co-creation. Operating independently from the Government of Vanuatu and any political affiliation, NWG Vanuatu provides a neutral platform for advancing disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI) through inclusive, systems-based approaches.\nThis series is part of the global mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and the Global Risks Forum (GRF)—bringing together stakeholders across the quintuple helix: academia, civil society, private sector, international partners, and public institutions (participating as stakeholders, not organizers).\n\nStrategic Purpose\nThe Vanuatu edition is designed to:\n\nStrengthen resilience to climate-related hazards, including cyclones, sea-level rise, and coastal erosion;\nSupport anticipatory governance for small island developing states (SIDS) through regional partnerships and traditional ecological knowledge;\nAdvance financial innovations such as parametric insurance and community-based resilience funds;\nPromote Indigenous knowledge systems, localized innovation, and intergenerational learning in national adaptation efforts.\n\nEach session focuses on co-creating actionable tools and frameworks—from hazard simulation and early warning systems to community-led disaster preparedness and sustainable finance mechanisms.\n\nGovernance and Participation\nNWG Vanuatu operates independently, in alignment with the global principles of GRA and GRF. The forum is not governed, endorsed, or directed by any government entity, ensuring ethical, transparent, and inclusive engagement across all levels.\nParticipation is open to researchers, Indigenous leaders, youth networks, women’s groups, climate advocates, technologists, and institutional partners working toward holistic resilience for Vanuatu and the broader Pacific region.\n\nJoin the Movement\nWe invite local and global collaborators to contribute to the Global Risks Forum – Vanuatu Series. Join us in designing inclusive governance systems, sustainable finance innovations, and climate-resilient infrastructures that honor Vanuatu’s culture, biodiversity, and leadership in global resilience efforts.\n\n
