SUMMARY:Tanzania Risks Forum
DESCRIPTION:The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Tanzania is an annual, hybrid-format initiative spearheaded by NWG Tanzania, a fully independent collective of national and international experts. Operating autonomously from the Government of Tanzania and all political affiliations, NWG Tanzania serves as a trusted platform for inclusive, evidence-based dialogue on disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).\nThis event is part of a broader effort led by the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF) to strengthen anticipatory risk governance and systems resilience across diverse geographies. It facilitates high-impact engagement between the five spheres of the quintuple helix: academia, civil society, private sector, international institutions, and government (as stakeholders only).\n\nStrategic Purpose\nThe Tanzania edition is designed to:\n\nAddress multi-hazard risks—such as droughts, floods, pandemics, and food insecurity—through anticipatory planning and systems modeling;\nFoster knowledge exchange between Indigenous leaders, scientists, youth innovators, and international networks;\nSupport the development of inclusive, risk-informed finance tools and community-based resilience strategies;\nLink local solutions to global frameworks, ensuring policy coherence and technological alignment.\n\nThe forum is outcome-oriented, aiming to advance equitable governance, cross-sector capacity building, and climate-smart innovation for Tanzania’s risk landscape.\n\nGovernance and Participation\nAll activities under NWG Tanzania are conducted with complete institutional independence, aligned with the guiding principles of the GRA and GRF. The forum is not affiliated with, influenced by, or accountable to any political body, ensuring scientific integrity, ethical neutrality, and stakeholder inclusivity.\nParticipation is open to researchers, policymakers, community leaders, financial actors, NGOs, and technology developers. The event emphasizes south-south cooperation, local-global integration, and capacity building through peer-to-peer learning.\n\nJoin the Movement\nWe invite practitioners, policy advocates, environmental defenders, financiers, youth leaders, and resilience thinkers to join the Global Risks Forum – Tanzania Series as contributors, collaborators, or partners. Co-create data-informed, inclusive, and future-ready pathways to strengthen Tanzania’s ability to anticipate, absorb, and adapt to complex risks—while staying connected to a global network of transformative action.\n
