SUMMARY:Cameroon Risks Forum
DESCRIPTION:The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Cameroon is a hybrid-format national initiative coordinated by NWG Cameroon, an autonomous coalition of researchers, youth organizations, Indigenous leaders, civil society groups, academic institutions, and innovation hubs. Operating independently of the Government of Cameroon and without any political affiliation, NWG Cameroon provides a trusted, nonpartisan platform to advance inclusive, evidence-based approaches to disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).\nThis forum aligns with the broader mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and the Global Risks Forum (GRF)—global networks that support anticipatory governance, collective intelligence, and ethical innovation for systemic resilience. The Cameroon edition brings together stakeholders from the quintuple helix: academia, civil society, private sector, international organizations, and government (as non-governing participants).\n\nStrategic Purpose\nThe Cameroon series is designed to:\n\nAddress complex and intersecting risks such as climate-induced displacement, regional instability, urban flooding, desertification, and biodiversity loss;\nStrengthen anticipatory governance systems through digital transformation, foresight tools, and cross-sector collaboration;\nDevelop innovative financial solutions including climate risk insurance, green bonds, and community-managed adaptation funds;\nElevate Indigenous knowledge, youth leadership, and gender-equitable strategies in national and regional resilience planning.\n\nSessions are structured to generate actionable outputs, such as community-driven adaptation strategies, cross-border risk assessments, and co-designed financial mechanisms for inclusive development.\n\nGovernance and Participation\nNWG Cameroon operates with full independence, consistent with the ethical principles and global frameworks of the GRA and GRF. It is not affiliated with or accountable to any government or political entity, ensuring that all engagements are guided by scientific integrity, local ownership, and inclusive participation.\nParticipation is open to educators, climate scientists, urban planners, Indigenous organizations, youth collectives, community development groups, financial institutions, and international partners dedicated to shaping resilient, just, and sustainable futures for Cameroon.\n\nJoin the Movement\nWe invite policy innovators, researchers, humanitarian actors, entrepreneurs, technology developers, diaspora professionals, and global collaborators to join the Global Risks Forum – Cameroon Series as speakers, co-creators, and strategic partners. This is a unique opportunity to co-develop anticipatory governance systems, community-based financial tools, and transformative solutions that respond to Cameroon’s multi-layered risks and resilience potential.\n
