SUMMARY:Cambodia Risks Forum
DESCRIPTION:The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Cambodia is a hybrid-format national initiative coordinated by NWG Cambodia, an autonomous, nonpartisan coalition of researchers, youth leaders, Indigenous community representatives, civil society actors, and innovation stakeholders. Operating independently from the Government of Cambodia and without political affiliation, NWG Cambodia provides a trusted platform for advancing inclusive and evidence-based solutions in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).\nThis edition contributes to the broader mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF)—international frameworks dedicated to systemic foresight, equitable innovation, and participatory governance. The Cambodia forum convenes actors across the quintuple helix—academia, civil society, private sector, international partners, and government (as non-governing stakeholders)—to co-develop place-based resilience pathways.\n\nStrategic Purpose\nThe Cambodia series is designed to:\n\nAddress interconnected risks including deforestation, flood and drought cycles, food insecurity, infrastructure vulnerability, and displacement;\nIntegrate traditional ecological knowledge with digital innovation for climate-smart governance and rural development;\nPromote sustainable and inclusive finance tools such as ecosystem-based insurance, nature-linked bonds, and community-managed adaptation funds;\nEmpower youth, women, and Indigenous populations in shaping anticipatory policies and multi-hazard preparedness frameworks.\n\nSessions will result in tangible outputs, such as integrated climate risk dashboards, early action protocols, co-developed investment strategies, and localized policy innovations.\n\nGovernance and Participation\nNWG Cambodia operates with full independence, in alignment with the principles and frameworks of the GRA and GRF. It is not affiliated with or accountable to any political party or government authority, ensuring that its processes are rooted in transparency, scientific rigor, and equitable participation.\nParticipation is open to researchers, youth networks, Indigenous organizations, urban planners, financial institutions, educators, and regional development partners committed to sustainable, just, and locally informed resilience-building.\n\nJoin the Movement\nWe invite climate action leaders, educators, policy innovators, diaspora professionals, sustainable finance actors, and multilateral agencies to join the Global Risks Forum – Cambodia Series as speakers, contributors, and strategic allies. This is a critical opportunity to co-design anticipatory governance frameworks, climate finance solutions, and regenerative futures that honor Cambodia’s rich heritage, local wisdom, and global responsibilities.\n
