Operating independently from the Government of The Bahamas and any political affiliation, NWG The Bahamas provides a neutral and science-driven environment for collaborative innovation in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).\nAs a national contributor to the global mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF), the series aligns with international efforts to address systemic and cascading risks through anticipatory action, cross-sectoral collaboration, and technological innovation. The forum engages actors across the quintuple helix—academia, civil society, the private sector, international partners, and government stakeholders (participating without influence over governance).\n\nStrategic Purpose\nThe Bahamas series is designed to:\n\nTackle complex, multi-hazard risks such as hurricanes, sea-level rise, and marine ecosystem degradation;\nAdvance the integration of frontier technologies into national disaster preparedness and recovery planning;\nStrengthen financial innovation for climate resilience, including blue economy investments and insurance tools;\nEmpower local communities, youth, and diaspora in co-designing equitable, culturally grounded resilience strategies.\n\nThe forum focuses on action-oriented outcomes—supporting the development of adaptive policy frameworks, anticipatory finance systems, climate-smart infrastructure models, and early warning protocols specific to island and coastal contexts.\n\nGovernance and Participation\nAll activities under NWG The Bahamas are governed by principles of independence, transparency, and scientific rigor, in line with the global standards of GRA and GRF. The forum is not affiliated with, funded by, or accountable to any government or political entity, ensuring an open, equitable, and inclusive space for dialogue and innovation.\nParticipation is open to researchers, policy designers, community leaders, entrepreneurs, technologists, diaspora contributors, and civil society actors working toward sustainable and just futures for The Bahamas.
